This not-so-new found summer destination which they also call “The Maldives of Guimaras” is in Sitio Talabahan, Barangay San Roque, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, Philippines. There are a lot of other beautiful floating cottages on the island so this is the exact place of the photo featured above. It’s not quite hard finding this place since the locals are very helpful in guiding you on how to get there. Now I think this is what you all really want to know.

How to get to FLOATING COTTAGE TINMR Guimaras from Iloilo City

• Take a boat ride from Ortiz Wharf going to Guimaras Island. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes. Fare costs Php14 (one way).
• From Jordan Wharf, drop off their tourism desk to assist you with your transportation going to the floating cottage. You can have 2 options, either rent a motorcycle/van or ride a jeepney.
  • If you are to rent a van, which is actually ideal for big groups, can cost you around Php1,000 (or more). But it is best if you are going to stay in a resort since they can provide it for you and can really be convenient.
  • If you prefer to rent a motorcycle, it usually costs around Php800 (one way). This can also vary depending on your negotiation skills. (;
  • The last alternative is commuting or riding a jeepney going to Barangay San Roque. If you just intend to go to the floating cottage and on a budget (like me), this is the best alternative. There are jeepneys that stand by at the wharf, you can ask the locals around which ones are going to San Roque. The fare is only Php38. And the ride takes about an hour. Then, ask the driver to drop you off at the Lucmayan crossing. That is near Lucmayan Elementary school. From there, you can ride a motorcycle going to the Comian Wharf for Php30 (again, this depends on how you negotiate with the driver. Their standard price is usually Php100 per person.)
• From Comian Wharf, ride a pump boat going to the Floating Cottage. It takes about 15 minutes for Php500. Some boat drivers ask you if you want to go on an island hopping so that your Php500 seems worth it. (Well, it is already worth it even just for the Floating Cottage.) If you are staying in a resort they have different rates both on going to the Floating Cottage alone and island hopping.
• The best time to go there is around 11am to 3pm.

Entrance fee to Floating Cottage is Php50. And the best time to go there is around 11am to 3pm. Also, you can bring your own food since what they sell in their store isn’t really that much. And if you are an OC person I advise you to check in at a resort so that you can wash up afterward. There is no clean water for you to wash up since they do not allow shampoos and conditioners. It is also to maintain the cleanliness of the ocean.
