Who would’ve thought that a year can change you a lot even though when you think about it yourself, you doubt if you really did? And who would have also thought that amidst the storm something good will happen to you? And that a new day became a new chapter for you? I didn’t imagine this would be me.
I’ve been out and about to even compose myself to write a blog properly. A lot has happened before I even realize it and let it sink in. I’ve put so much thought on certain things in my life and had a lot of realizations (and still counting). And maybe I am just overwhelmed by the fact that some things in my life actually did turn out pretty well for me even though not in the way I expect it to be. A year ago was a lot to take in, and the future ahead of me is almost eating me up but I have to catch up breathing in the present. And before I could even start to do something I was stuck and tired. How can I keep up with life? I have been going in circles. I was walking aimlessly through. That was me for the past year until hope dawn at me. When people were crazy for “new year, new me”, out of my exhaustion I was only hoping things will be different and better for me this year. Slowly I am seeing it now. More than how things are turning different – better actually, for me, is how I also see myself change. Admittedly, I am stubborn and control-freak. And maybe that was one (or two) of the reasons why when things went down I find it hard to cope and still resist the inevitable circumstances. And just like most people would say that things happened for a reason. Things happened for me to learn and not just learn that is in my head but learning it with my heart and its impact in my life. Maybe being positive at the start of this year was just the start. But it was from the hope dwelled within one’s heart that led me to a different perspective. Maybe things didn’t turn out well for me for such a long time because I had the wrong attitude about it. After all, it all starts from the heart. I’ve learned and known that since but didn’t realize it sooner until now. What are your motives, and the condition of your heart affects how you see things and react to things.
So what’s new? I’m also thinking right now what am I trying to get out of this. What’s new is how I cherish the simple day-to-day sudden reflections of self-consciousness towards my environment. A never-ending learning process of improving oneself to grow- for the betterment of my future as well, to be successful and satisfied in the fullness of life. It seems slow but I learned to welcome it this time. To even be patient in learning, improving, and in living. I can’t be too hard on myself, huh? And somehow at some point, this kind of change made me happy. I am positively looking forward to greater things about to happen this year for me.
All is well.
