It has been a difficult journey for me for years when it comes to issues of the heart. I need to deal with my past, my mistakes, my identity, my longings for love, my right and wrong mindset about men, my self-worth and a lot to mention on that matter. I went through the rough road to even forgive myself, move on from my issues in the past, to heal, to change my perspective about relationships, and how I am as a woman prepared to meet its partner in time.

And then you came. Unexpectedly. I wasn’t sure if I should let you into my life. I wasn’t sure if you’re worth risking after all the heartaches and heartbreaks I’ve been through. I’m wasn’t sure if I’m ready to be in a relationship. I wasn’t sure but I risked it anyway. You are different. (I thought so.) A good kind of different, that’s why I opened my heart to you. My fragile little heart.

You. Yes, you. We go through the ups and the downs in a relationship. And yes pain is there as a part of it, and though I hoped it was worth it to go through with you, it was too much. Never will I deserve the pain only to be treated less as a woman, if not as a lover to you. I opened my heart because I thought it’s the love I’ve been praying for. (I thought.)

Now men, take this with you. If you don’t have the intention to love her with all you are back off because she deserves a man who cherishes, adores and loves her completely. Do not come knocking at the doorstep of their heart if you have no intention to accept her- all of her, in black and white. And men, step up. Stand up! That’s what you are created for. A leader. Women don’t deserve a man who is passive. Take a long-term goal like raising your own family, it is the man who leads. This is not to sound who’s who, or who should and shouldn’t. My point here is simple. If you’re not ready; if you cannot accept her as who she is; if you can’t love her wholeheartedly, faithfully, unconditionally; if you don’t treat her well as she deserves…

Let. Her. Be. Let her be with her life. She is better off without you coming around the corner knocking at the door of her heart. She doesn’t have to deal with heartaches and heartbreaks all over again. Do not break her when, maybe, someone deserves her whole.

To you, yes you, my dear. I have loved you with all the love I know how. And I did not open my heart to you for you to break it. I, now, maybe think twice. Is it still worth it? Do I deserve this? Be careful. And MAN UP. Needless to say more.
